Solutions Design is a critical function where success is dependent on working effectively with many other departments such as Operations, Business Development, Innovation, Accelerated Digitalisation, IT and Finance across all levels.

We currently have an opening within our Solutions Design team for a Solutions Design General Manager to take Line manager responsibility for a small team of Solutions Designers in warehouse Design. Providing support, guidance, and peer review to your own team's projects and train and coach to help develop your team. Managing solution design deliverables across highly complex projects. We require an individual who has a proven track record in the design and implementation of Operational Warehousing solutions. You will act as the subject matter expert bias toward Automation and Warehouse Design but also have experience of working with multiple functions, both internally and externally, to provide bespoke warehouse solutions that meet the customers' requirements and support the DHL growth performance agenda.

As an experienced Solutions Design General Manager, you will lead the team working across multiple work streams and manage the early design principles and assumptions, project risks and issues, detailed design phase, as well as implementation support.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent practices, you will:

• You will act as the subject matter expert biased toward Automation and Warehouse Design
• Take Line manager responsibility for a small team of Solutions Designers
• Provide the support, guidance, and peer review of own team's projects
• Provide training and development framework for own team
• Manage solution design deliverables across highly complex projects
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders in the business to ensure Solutions meet customer expectations
• Work closely with Business Development to win new business Account Management to support the agenda of growth from existing accounts and design solutions for renewals.
• Lead larger SD projects including the facilities element of transformational deals.
• Develop materials for customer presentation
• Model scenarios of current and future operational solutions & present and advise alternative cost benefit analysis & value models
• Advise the customer in new & innovative solutions which address the customer needs and demonstrate clear solution fit
• Develop commercial framework for proposed solution with Business Development & Key Account Managers to achieve DSC's growth, contract retention and continuous improvement objectives.

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

• Strong track record of experience within Solutions Design including expertise in Automation and Warehouse Design.
• Understand operational requirements regarding Facilities and warehouse design and have experience including process flows and continuous improvement for efficient layout designs.
• Experience of leading a team including developing and motivating the team & individuals, leading and deploying strategic initiatives.
• Proven track record of line manager responsibilities.
• IT Literate, With Microsoft Office Packages.
• AutoCAD Experience is desirable.
• PowerBi Experience is essential.
