Role: Experienced Shooting Producer/Director
Dates: September 2025 - February 2026
Production: Significant 90-minute documentary for Channel 4
Location: A Scottish base would be beneficial
An award-winning production company is seeking an exceptional shooting Producer/Director for a significant documentary commission. This high-profile anniversary piece requires a director who can take a visually fresh approach to telling an important historical story.

The Opportunity This role demands both creative leadership and sensitive handling of contributors for a landmark documentary that will reach millions of viewers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive narrative and creatively shape the 90-minute documentary
• Take film through the full edit process
• Work with and produce contributors requiring sensitive approach
• Develop innovative visual storytelling methods
• Collaborate with experienced senior team

Essential Requirements:

• Previous Shooting PD/Series PD credits on factual / specialist factual documentaries
• Visually creative ideas and innovative approach
• Proven edit experience on singles and feature documentaries
• Very strong self-shooting capabilities
• Journalistic approach and sensitivity with contributors
• Ability to handle complex historical subject matter

Highly Desirable:

• Scottish base and/or roots - this would be very beneficial, please specify
• Experience on history programming
• Previous work on sensitive and important documentary subjects
