We are seeking to recruit a full-time permanent Service Manager who can encourage a workplace culture, based on respect and dignity, with strong leadership skills and a robust history of delivering excellent quality oversight of registered care and support.
We are keen to recruit someone with the right values and behaviours to ensure that they are at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, enthusiastic, and passionate about making a real difference to people's lives through the delivery of a strengths-based approach through recovery, rehab and reablement.
The successful applicant will need to be excellent team player, be able to manage their own workload under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment. You will need to be able to communicate and liaise effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You will need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills and have in-depth knowledge of the CQC requirements and oversight of regulations relating to a domiciliary care service.
You should also possess a good level of IT skills, and knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and The Mental Capacity Act 2005. Customer care and collaborative working are a key element in this role alongside driving coproduction to support the ongoing development of the service.
As Service Manager you would be responsible for supporting the registered manager and the strategic leadership and development of the service, working with a passionate team keen to improve outcomes for the people of Sheffield.
Our common purpose is to enable people to live as independently as possible in their own homes following a period of crisis or ill health. The service is aspirational for the future in supporting more people to return and remain at home, to reach their optimum level of independence and to regain previous skills and abilities to live a fulfilled life.
The Home First Community team is a busy and diverse service which provides a home support service to people across the city. The service operates over 7 days and between the hours of 7am to 10.30pm.
As the successful candidate you will be required to attend and actively participate as a member of the Home First leadership team, and as a strong system partner working with Health and our community provision to ensure the best outcomes for people whilst we experience unprecedented demand and increasing complex needs.
We are seeking an experienced leader who can demonstrate commitment and passion to develop this service. You must have
- Evidence of continuous professional development proportionate to a senior adult social care leadership role.
- At least three years' experience of managing teams in a social care or health setting.
- At least five years' experience working in a setting that directly supports vulnerable adults.
- Hold a minimum of a Level 5 QCF in Health and Social Care management/ or equivalent.

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.
If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide pay slip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
