What The Role Is

This role is for an experienced Senior Product Designer looking to make a meaningful impact at Zinc. As a Senior Product Designer, you'll lead the design strategy, from user research to final implementation. You'll collaborate with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to build innovative solutions that not only meet the needs of our users but drive Zinc's business growth.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Lead Feature Research & Strategy: Lead research initiatives, including user interviews and competitive analysis, to identify opportunities and ensure designs address real user pain points while aligning with business goals.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and Stakeholders to define and execute product designs that address both user and business needs. You'll ensure cross-functional alignment and share your insights to drive decisions.
  • Drive End-to-End Design Process: Take full ownership of the design lifecycle, from ideation to delivery. Ensure that designs are scalable, user-friendly, and well integrated into Zinc's product ecosystem.
  • Design with Agility: At Zinc, things move quickly. You'll need to iterate rapidly and deliver high-quality design solutions within tight timelines, balancing speed with excellence.
  • Clear Communication & Stakeholder Management: Lead design presentations and workshops, providing clear and actionable design rationales. Work directly with product teams and business stakeholders to iterate on and finalise design solutions.

Hybrid, Old Street, LDN

We appreciate the value of in person connection with colleagues and flexible working for our employees. We operate a hybrid model with 2 days a week in office, Mondays and Thursdays.

Salary - £70,000 - £80,000
You Have

  • User-Centred Research Expertise: You have extensive experience in B2B environments, conductinguser research to uncover needs and pain points, ensuring that your designs directly solve real problems for users. You're skilled in leveraging qualitative and quantitative data to drive design decisions.
  • Advanced Design Skills: You excel at high-fidelity UI design and have experience creating complex, intuitive, and visually engaging interfaces that align with both user needs and business goals. You are proficient in Figma, Sketch, or similar tools, and can handle everything from wireframes to final product designs.
  • Experience with Design Systems: You've worked extensively with design systems and know how to create scalable, reusable design components that ensure consistency across products. You understand the importance of a unified user experience and can design within those constraints.
  • Prototyping & Interaction Design: You're comfortable with prototyping and have a strong understanding of interactive design to help validate ideas early in the process. You know how to use tools like Figma or InVision to quickly iterate and test concepts.

  • Communicator & Collaborator: You can articulate complex design concepts clearly and confidently. You lead by example and are skilled at facilitating workshops, presenting your work, and are experienced collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Interview Process

2. Phone call with Bel, Talent Lead (5 minutes)

3. Interview with Joe, Senior Product Designer & Gabi, Senior Product Manager (30mins)
