Senior Library Community Engagement Officer

Salary £36,524 - £41,792 per annum

Grade E - Pay Point range 25 - 30

Full time - 37 hours per week

12 Month Fixed Term Contract

The Library Development Team is dedicated to enhancing the library's services, resources, and community engagement. This team plays a crucial role in ensuring that the library meets the evolving needs of its users through innovative programs and initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementation of community groups, activities and services consistently across libraries.
  • Working with Steering Groups and other local groups to enable communities to organise and deliver community led initiatives, empowering, and enabling volunteers to contribute to their communities and meet local priorities.
  • Managing and leading the Library Community Engagement Officer.
  • Developing a sustainable future financing plan to continue the extended opening hours of Tilbury Library and Hub.

To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate exceptional communication skills, have a deep understanding of community needs, and the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders.

You must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings and be able to travel around the borough.

A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is not required for this role.
