What are we looking for
We have an opportunity for a Senior HR Advisor where you will work as part of the HR Team providing a responsive support to line management in the effective delivery of people-related practices and procedures. The role aims to ensure the achievement of HR and business objectives, championing people-focused and user-friendly approaches that can flex with business needs.
The Senior HR Advisor will work closely with the HR Business Partner and the wider HR team to deliver effective first-line HR services, support line managers to build their people capability and contribute to key HR projects.
Fundamentally the role will mean working with the HR Business Partner and the wider HR Team to deliver a service provision that is in line with current and future business needs of the business and ultimately enables our people to thrive.
Responsibilities
Operational HR Support:
- Provide operational HR advisory support across allocated functions, acting as the day-to-day contact for line managers and employees in all employee lifecycle matters, ensuring all legislative changes are understood and advised.
- Handle key ER processes such as consultations, investigations, counselling meetings, and HR presence at disciplinary, grievance and flexible working request meetings.
- Ensure that our performance management cycle is effectively implemented in all allocated business units, providing the coaching and support to managers as required.
- Assist with workforce planning and capability processes across all business units.
- Administer HR actions and support employee communications and HR system maintenance.
- Deliver HR inductions and design and deliver people related training courses for managers.
- Provide accurate data to key internal stakeholders.
Health & Wellbeing:
- Support the delivery of wellbeing and health initiatives.
- Lead our occupational health employee health referrals programme.
- Support individual case management through occupational health and GP intervention.
- Promote a health and wellbeing culture across the business, considering the use of the EAP and wider initiatives.
HR Systems and Processes:
- Ensure our HRIS remains up to date, GDPR compliant and remains open-minded to improve our processes and ways of working.
- Present necessary information for monthly payroll processes and liaise with the HR Services Manager for transactional HR processes.
Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion:
- Support the delivery of the EDI strategy and ensure EDI is considered in all HR service provisions.
Projects:
- Work under the guidance of the HR Director and HR Business Partner on specialist project areas and actively contribute to culture, employee engagement, and international business growth areas.
About You
Knowledge and Experience
- Experience working in a fast-paced, agile and high-performing HR team - preferably have experience in a Manufacturing / Logistics / Industrial setting
- Experience of operational HR advisory delivery and competent, confident management of ER issues.
- Ability to focus on balancing the needs of the business with delivering sound operational people practices.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and experienced with HR information systems.
- Level 5 CIPD or equivalent preferred.
- Solid understanding of best practices in human resources and a keen interest in expanding this knowledge.
