Senior Garment Technologist (Tailoring), FTC

HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?

You will be enhancing and managing all technical aspects of the dunhill Menswear Tailoring and Woven collections. Your role will be to eliminate risk within the product, to ensure functionality and customer expectation remains key and quality is upheld as an uncompromised pillar of all Menswear Tailoring, Woven and MTM products within the dunhill collections. You will guarantee compliance on products with Richemont/International standards and main market regulations.

PRODUCT LIFE CYCLE;

  • Provide Technical support for Design, PD, Merchandising & Suppliers to meet Menswear business brief and drive quality throughout the product life cycle.
  • Manage the fitting process from 1st Proto to Pre-production Gold seal; engineering product with consideration to design, development, industrialisation and quality requirements on Tailoring and Wovens
  • Develop blocks and seasonal key shapes through fit reviews/meetings with Design, PD, Merchandising and suppliers.
  • Conduct seasonal risk assessment during development of Tailoring and Woven product; Identifying and highlighting potential trim, fabric or manufacturing issues.
  • Provide risk assessment solutions through testing and due diligence programmes to improve/refine industrialisation of the products.
  • Work with suppliers, managing communication and product sealing to ensure products are correctly engineered and industrialised for production.
  • Ensure that the products are sealed for production within the relevant delivery dates
  • Responsible for the hand of product to the Menswear in field quality inspector to ensure smooth transition.

PRODUCT QUALITY AND COMPLIANCE

  • Responsible for product testing programme and care label compliance.
  • Maintain standards through the publication and distribution Make standards, Measurements, Labelling , Supplier Manuals, Testing Manual and Blocks/Grading Manual.
  • Ensure technical/testing manuals are updated in line with CSR/Richemont compliancy guidelines
  • Support product compliance team with quality and technical expertise.

GENERAL

  • Manage critical deadlines within the Tailoring and Wovens product categories for technical activities.
  • Promote continuous improvement in Quality and Technical systems.
  • Actively build a collaborative relationship with internal and external colleagues
  • Interface and support Design, product development, merchandising, production and Marketing

HOW WILL YOU EXPERIENCE SUCCESS WITH US?

  • Proven Technical experience within product development environment.
  • Strong understanding of luxury menswear development flow, with experience and understanding of the whole Product lifecycle and its relationship to the end customer
  • Experience and strong understanding of menswear tailoring and wovens
  • Understanding of product construction and pattern
  • Proven experience of directing supplier fit meetings
  • Strong understanding and ability to interpret designs and the requirements of the markets into product
  • Experience of trim, fabric and product testing and compliance
  • Understanding of quality AQL criteria and inspection protocols
  • Ability to deal with and manage change; able to lead by example and mange conflict resolution.
  • Able to identify risk and present testing agenda
  • Creative thinking with an explorative, problem solving mind.
  • Strong project and time management skills
  • Proven experience of working in a fast paced/dynamic environment; able to work under pressure and to prioritise
  • Excellent communication skills - personable with all levels
  • Experience of dealing and communicating with International suppliers
  • Able to travel to UK, Europe and Asia as required
