Senior Data & Insight Manager

At a glance

This is a hybrid working role, therefore your time will primarily be split between working from home and the London/ Head Office. However, there will also be an expectation to visit other locations as the need arises. 

Our Data and Insights team currently works from the office once a week to connect and on a more ad-hoc basis to attend key meetings, but again the frequency is dependent on the business needs. Otherwise the expectation is that you engage with your stakeholders in the frequency and location that optimises the working relationship, and engagement to successfully enable you to do your role most effectively.

Expected Salary - £54,400 - £100,000

Contract type  -Secondment till February 2026

About the Role

The Analytics Team is spread right across the Partnership, using advanced analytics to help stakeholders solve problems and make better decisions. 

As a Senior Data and Insight Manager, you will lead a team allocated to a part of the business and be responsible for maximising value from your team in that area. You will achieve that through the application of your technical expertise, appropriate analytical techniques, effective stakeholder management, clear storytelling, recommendations, strict prioritisation and timely delivery of your own and your team’s work. This is an expert hands-on role and you will be expected to be leading by example as the most senior person completely committed to your business area.

We are looking for Partners who are enthusiastic about solving business problems, with curious and pragmatic mindsets. In addition, we are looking for analysts who not only have significant technical knowledge, but who also have the ability to apply those skills in a practical and time sensitive way with great communication. 

What you will do

You are expected to take charge of projects working seamlessly with stakeholders to improve business decision making using analytical techniques. You will be responsible for our deliverables within an assigned business area, managing stakeholders and team members within that area.

Day-to-day, you will:

  • Be the main point of contact for Analytics in your business area and becoming an extended part of that team

  • Proactively engage stakeholders, understand their strategy and identify near and long term value creation opportunities

  • Get buy in to prioritising the value maximising work and drive business impact with analytics

  • Communicate projects and recommendations, however complex they may be, clearly and concisely.

  • Work effectively with other parts of CTTO to ensure solutions are sustained and not siloed e.g. DMO, R&I

  • Take ownership and be responsible for the deliverables in your area (e.g. delivered on time, right accuracy, methodologies, impact, influence)

  • Promote a self-serve culture within your stakeholders’ teams

  • Manage your team, their projects and personal development through empowerment and support

  • Be an active contributor to the wider DI&A team

  • Work effectively with 3rd party agencies as required

  • Ensure that all work complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and adhere to all Partnership risk management and data privacy and security policies.

  • Advise and mentor others in the profession on the appropriate analytics techniques for any given problem, acting as the expert within the team.

What you’ll have (Essential Skills)

  • Relevant qualification in a numerate discipline e.g. maths/stats/data science/science or similar 

  • Extensive experience in an analytics team applying advanced techniques 

  • Experience of managing analysts and building their capability

  • Experience of driving business value from analytics

  • Experience of influencing decision makers.

What else you could bring (Desirable Skills)

  • Experience of building positive relationships with senior stakeholders

  • Experience of working collaboratively with other related teams e.g. R&I, CTTO.
