About the Strategic Management Office and Performance Insights:
The Performance and Insight Department is responsible for strategic performance monitoring and providing data-driven insights. This team ensures that progress towards strategic goals is tracked, analyzed, and reported effectively, influencing the directorate's strategic direction and helping the senior leadership make informed decisions.
About the role:
This role will provide technical expertise in data analysis, reporting, and optimisation of data collection methods. It is pivotal in supporting the Associate Director of Performance and Insights by delivering deep-dive analytics and actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making. The role will balance technical proficiency with a strategic advisory capacity, ensuring data accuracy, relevance, and utility in driving organisational performance.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct in-depth analysis of performance data, providing insights to support strategic objectives. • Develop and maintain performance reporting dashboards in PowerBI, ensuring they are accurate, timely, and relevant. • Optimise data collection methods and processes, ensuring efficiency and quality in the data pipeline. • Provide technical expertise in the interpretation and presentation of complex data sets, making recommendations for performance improvement. • Collaborate with the Associate Director to align data insights with organisational strategy and performance goals. • Manage and update performance data systems, ensuring data integrity and compliance with organisational standards. • Support the development of KPIs and metrics in line with organisational objectives. • Act as a point of contact for stakeholders requiring technical guidance in understanding data reports and insights. • Identify trends and patterns in performance data to provide actionable recommendations. • Work cross-functionally with other teams to ensure data insights contribute to broader strategic discussions. • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to data reporting and analysis tools, particularly PowerBI. • Stay up to date with best practices in data analytics and performance reporting technologies.
This is a full time / part time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.
About you:
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria:
- Extensive experience using PowerBI for data analysis and reporting
- Proven experience in performance management and insights generation.
- Strong technical skills in data analysis, optimisation, and dashboard creation.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and synthesise large data sets into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot data issues and improve reporting processes.
- Experience working in performance management or similar functions in a large organisation.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Desirable criteria:
- Experience in the higher education sector or a similar environment.
- Knowledge of advanced data analysis techniques such as statistical analysis or predictive modelling.
- Familiarity with data governance and compliance practices.
- Experience working with other data visualisation tools and methodologies.
