Role Summary

Here at Parker Meggitt, we're recruiting for a Senior Contracts Manager who will oversee the customer facing contract and agreement processes for the GTFSD Division sites. Specifically, this will include preparing contractual agreements for commercial and governmental customers and providing commercial related advice, drafting and reviewing contractual documentation and negotiating agreements in accordance with corporate policy and applicable legal requirements. In this role you will drive efficient commercial performance throughout the product and contract life cycle from bid preparation and proposal to contract closure/exit. This includes implementation of modifications and amendments as necessary and working closely with other functions within the Division to ensure the protection against exploitation of Parker Meggitt Intellectual Property, revenue, profit, and compliance as well as ensuring that customer requirements are met. You'll work with colleagues in the cross-functional team to maximise the benefit of the business case for all opportunities.

Your responsibilities

  • Providing commercial and contractual advice and support to the business
  • Generating, drafting, reviewing and negotiating terms and conditions for site specific business matters (including general terms agreements, long term agreements, intermediary agreements, non-disclosure agreements, IP licensing agreements, memorandum of agreements, etc.); compliance matrices; and making recommendations in accordance with Parker Meggitt policies
  • identifying and assessing contractual, commercial and legal risks, utilising legal resources and other subject matter experts, to ensure all level of risks are recognised, reviewed and subsequently addressed, and provides appropriate advice to other functional departments and Senior Leadership Team
  • Evaluating contractual compliance to all applicable laws, regulations, corporate policies and applicable business practices and procedures
  • Advising functional departments of contractual rights and obligations; functions as first point of contact and acting as a subject matter expert
  • Assessing, validating and managing customers' claims, identifying scope creeps and correctly asserting them
  • Attending and leading customer dialogue related to the contractual topics under their responsibility including negotiation of terms and pricing and dispute resolution
  • Ensuring that dissemination of agreements and contract closedown/exit activities are completed within expected timelines

Who we are looking for

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field required (preferably in Law or Business Management and Administration)
  • Extensive relevant experience in commercial/contracting processes and application (preferably customer side)
  • Expert knowledge of commercial and contractual principles and best practices
  • Strong understanding of contractual terms and conditions and commercial and legal risks
  • Experienced in developing and negotiating contractual agreements
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
  • Strong negotiation skills with ability to make decisions within the delegated authority limits
  • Logical problem solving and demonstrated financial acumen, with the ability to interpret and disseminate commercial and contractual context in pricing models and complex claims
  • Strong communication and verbal skills with ability to present matters to Senior Leadership Team in a structured way

Ideally, you will also have

  • Familiarity with and basic knowledge of UK, US and other foreign military contracting principles and regulations
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills to drive tasks to completion in order of priority
  • Ability and willingness to learn and thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Self-starter and leader, with the ability to draw on support when required
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, One Note, Outlook, and web- browsers
