As part of this commitment, we're excited to announce an opportunity for a Resourcing Manager to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis in Birmingham. This hybrid role requires a minimum of 2 days per week at our Birmingham city centre office.

The Role

We are seeking a dynamic leader to spearhead the development and implementation of innovative resourcing strategies and solutions. This role is pivotal in attracting high-performing and diverse candidates, utilising effective practices, processes, and tools to source the right talent.

You will collaborate closely with Senior Managers to understand and meet resource requirements, ensuring our resourcing strategies align with both current and future organisational needs.

Additionally, you will work alongside HR colleagues to deliver a seamless, end-to-end recruitment service, ensuring a cohesive and efficient experience for the organisation.

What does the job involve?

You'll be driving continuous improvement in our recruitment processes, using data-driven methods to boost service delivery and make our safety-critical testing, interview questions, and job adverts more effective. A key part of your role will be streamlining and reducing complexity to drive more efficient outcomes. This means you'll be identifying and eliminating unnecessary steps in our processes, simplifying workflows, and implementing best practices to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

You'll manage relationships with senior stakeholders, report on recruitment initiatives, meet deadlines, and ensure we comply with rail standards and UK employment laws.

Leading and developing the Resourcing team, you'll create a high-performance culture, making sure everyone understands contractual requirements and delivers top-notch solutions. You'll also support workforce strategy and demand planning.

Overseeing recruitment services, you'll ensure we meet KPIs and SLAs, manage external suppliers, and stay updated on industry trends and compliance.

Promoting Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), you'll support all our EDI initiatives and step in for the Head of HR when needed.

What skills and experience do I need to do the job?

  • Expert in recruitment with significant in-house senior recruitment experience in a leadership role, across complex, multi-site organisations.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation and compliance
  • Team leadership experience with a focus on engagement and motivation
  • Exceptional customer service and stakeholder management skills
  • Impeccable communication abilities
  • Understanding of EDI principles in recruitment and onboarding
  • Effective project and campaign management skills
