Position Summary

We are looking for a Purchasing Manager to manage and develop a Procurement Team to achieve the company's Operational targets whilst ensuring that the Day to Day activities are achieved in line with Operational expectations.

To provide expertise in Global Sourcing, Supplier Management & Cost reduction whilst delivering, & deploying, best in class practices associated to Supply Chain & Process Management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure optimal delivery of supplier material.
  • Achieve and report on Year-on-Year Cost reduction in addition to critical period BU & Group Procurement Reporting.
  • Drive Managed Inventory Reduction & Working Capital Improvements.
  • Supplier negotiation and performance improvement.
  • Undertake Tactical Purchasing activities as required by the business such as expediting, placing orders, maintaining production output, address quality issues and invoice queries.
  • Implement & Drive Strategic Purchasing Initiatives implementing appropriate strategies in line with business needs & objectives.
  • Undertake supply market and supply chain analysis for all portfolio of expenditure to reduce cost and optimise added value.
  • Identify and monitor Risk and Vulnerability affecting the key categories.
  • Develop and negotiate supply agreements / service level agreements / contracts.
  • Drive continuous improvement within the Supply Chain and Internal Processes to support Best Practice
  • Where supply issues are identified work with the supply chain, manufacturing engineers, product managers and engineers to find a solution.
  • Source new products and encourage innovation within the supply chain.
  • Ensure that processes and procedures are adhered too in line with Business Unit requirements.
  • Analyse technical data, designs, specifications, manufacturing limitations and supplier capabilities.
  • Interpreting technical drawings and component requirements.
  • Support internal initiatives on Product Development and New Product Implementation

Experience/Qualifications

  • Experience in People and Process Management.
  • Understand Global Cost Drives together with their cause and effect.
  • Come from a fast-paced Manufacturing/Engineering Supply Chain role.
  • Engineering/Technical background - Understand technical drawings, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Have strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal & influencing skills.
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Be analytical, numerically astute with strong proven problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving techniques.
  • Organised - able to document, handle, prioritise and deal with a high volume of projects and tasks.
  • Experience in writing and interpreting contract documents.
  • Commodity / Category Management Experience in a Similar Industry / Manufacturing Environment.
  • Full Driving license & Willingness to Travel.
  • CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply Chain)
  • Contract Law (Commercial)
  • 5 years in a similar role

• IT - MS Navision ERP System.
• Project Management Skills.
• Experience in Global Sourcing and Supply Chains.
• Advanced Purchasing Techniques.
• Background &/or Technical Understanding of Electronics / Hardware / Proprietary Manufactured Components.
