About The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced person to become St John's Pre-School Manager in Wimborne, from September 2018 or before. The successful applicant will lead and manage a dedicated and caring staff team and will have the vision and enthusiasm to further develop this wonderful Pre-School. (Ofsted 'Good' January 2018).

St John's Pre-School plays a special role in the local community, being part of St John's Church, Wimborne and working closely with St John's CofE First School, all of which share the same site. The successful applicant will be required to continue to develop these established partnerships and be sympathetic to the Pre-School's clear Christian ethos.

Sessions are five mornings and two afternoons and term time only. There are up to 26 children aged from 2 years 3 months to school age, per session.

In order to maintain the Pre-School's high standards of care and education, applicants for the post of Pre-School Manager must have an enthusiasm for and commitment to working with young children and a secure knowledge of EYFS. Excellent leadership and communication skills are required for leading and managing the friendly staff team and providing a happy and supportive working environment for adults and children alike. The Pre-School Manager is also required to continue to develop the effective partnership with parents.

Job Vacancy: Pre-School Manager

Contract: Term Time (Paid for 43 weeks per year)

Hours: Basic hours - 26.5 per week. 8am to 12:30pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday

9am to 3:30pm Tuesday, Friday; (Negotiable start times between 8am to 9am)

Salary: On a scale £16,522 to £17,662 depending on qualifications and relevant experience

Qualifications: Early years educator, cache level 3 or degree in early years or other appropriate qualification. A minimum of three years post qualifying experience with children aged 0 to 5 years. A minimum of 2 years supervisory experience, ability to work on own initiative and prioritise workload. A minimum of Safeguarding Level 2, but Level 3 desirable.
