Position Summary

We are looking for a Materials Manager to manage and develop the Planning and Procurement teams to achieve the company's Operational targets whilst ensuring that the Day to Day activities are achieved in line with Operational expectations.

To provide expertise in Working Capital management, Master Production Scheduling, Inventory Management, and Process adherence, whilst delivering and deploying best in class practices associated with process management/health checks and MRP management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive managed inventory reduction & Working Capital improvements.
  • Support excellence in Excess and Obsolete initiatives and projects
  • Ensure strategy is in place and implemented to facilitate optimal delivery of supplier material.
  • Implement & Drive planning and purchasing Initiatives implementing appropriate strategies in line with business needs & objectives.
  • Complete continual process health checks and audits to ensure conformance and day-to-day adherence
  • Identify and monitor Risk and Vulnerability affecting the key processes with the focus of continually improving
  • Own the MPS, managing forecasts, loading variants, and main line instrument order dating in line with market demand
  • Drive continuous improvement within the Supply Chain and internal processes to support best practice
  • Where supply issues are identified work with the supply chain, manufacturing engineers, product managers and engineers to find a solution.
  • Analyse past dues to drive continuous improvement in all areas.
  • Using data, review minimum inventory holding for key components.
  • Implement new processes and encourage innovation within the business.
  • Ensure that processes and procedures are adhered to in line with Business Unit requirements.
  • Analyse data to drive decision marking and process improvement
  • Support internal initiatives on Product Development and New Product Implementation
  • Manage, mentor, guide, and challenge each team to drive excellence in each area

Requirements for Consideration

  • Experience in People and Process Management.
  • Experience in MPS, forecasting and Working capital management
  • Appreciation of P&L and how the bottom line is impacted
  • Experience with excess and obsolete processes
  • Excellent people management and soft skills
  • High attention to detail and disciplined approach
  • Understand Global Cost Drives together with their cause and effect.
  • Experience with a continually evolving and growing operation.
  • Data analytics and/or Planning background - Understand data trends, materials, MPS, and manufacturing processes.
  • Have strong negotiation, communication, interpersonal & influencing skills.
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Be analytical, numerically astute with strong proven problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving techniques with the mentality that there is always a way to make the process better
  • Organised - able to document, handle, prioritise and deal with a high volume of projects and tasks.
  • Recognise trends to ensure plan adherence
  • Possess the ability to work with multiple teams to drive best practice

Desirable Skills:

IT - MS Navision ERP System.
• Project Management Skills.
• Experience in Global Sourcing and Supply Chains.
• Advanced Planning techniques.
• Background and understanding of end-to-end Operations.
