The role

To implement trading approach and management that step changes our approach to

trading across Business Development, maximizing total advertising revenue, share and

digital revenues into ITV - split day-to-day trading across offices and key agencies

between the Trading Managers

Key responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with Trading Managers across all major agencies /
  • selected direct client negotiations to work with Trading Controller and Deputy
  • Trading Controller to lead deal negotiations, identify incremental
  • opportunities and track deal delivery
  • Integrate closely with Trading team in London (Trading Managers) across all
  • major agency deals and implementation of trading strategy / policy
  • Be a key part of the Trading team of 6 to deliver more strategic control,
  • insight and ideas to maximize incremental revenue and share into ITV through
  • trading negotiations
  • Manage, inspire and develop Trading Assistant
  • Work closely and collaboratively with all teams across BD [N&R] on all key
  • agencies and across all offices
  • Adopt creative and commercial approach to delivering value through
  • understanding client and agency motivations / challenges / opportunities
  • Integrate all platform and portfolio revenue opportunities into trading
  • negotiations where possible across NAR and non-NAR
  • Working with the team to build the case to clients and agencies for moving to
  • 30% of TAR into digital revenue streams (eg. BVOD, Pause/addressability,
  • YouTube)
  • Working with the team to build the case for digital performance agencies to move money to ITV and ITVX driving incremental new revenue
  • Linking the digital focus of the team in these areas effectively across Business
  • Development, Digital, Client Strategy & Planning and Trading
  • Become involved in non-NAR negotiations / commercial proposals where
  • appropriate
  • Manage deal paperwork and revenue management / reconciliations alongside
  • Trading Executive
  • Advise and support Business Managers / Business Development Managers
  • across the regional offices on key line-by-line deals in line with step changing
  • trading strategy
  • Share best practice across offices to improve and focus the team on trading
  • preparation, insight, strategy and negotiation
  • Accurate revenue forecasting
  • Efficient trading balance management / deal delivery implementation in line
  • with agreements in collaboration with Activation Group Head
  • Support on commercial proposals for creative pitches
  • Close relationship with Legal / CRR / Compliance / Finance teams (eg
  • regulation, deal contract management, budgeting)

Skills you'll need (minimum criteria)

  • Comprehensive knowledge of TV trading market and other media
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all trading parameters including barter
  • Strong insight into understanding agency and client motivations / challenges /
  • opportunities
  • Good analytical reporting and attention to detail
  • Strong negotiator with proven track record
