Job Description

Checkout.com is seeking a driven and agile Manager, Safeguarding Reconciliations to join our growing Finance team. As part of our Treasury function, you will oversee the Safeguarding Reconciliation Team and calculate daily funding positions across multiple global entities. This fast-paced, multifaceted environment demands meticulous attention to detail.

The ideal candidate will be dedicated, laser-focused, and highly organized, capable of handling a high volume of work. While possessing management experience, you must also be a team player, willing to assist where needed.

As Checkout.com continues to scale and expand in volume, product diversity, regulated activities, and legal entity footprint, you will identify risks associated with Safeguarding position calculation. You will contribute to designing and implementing a Safeguarding framework, focusing on automation and embedding safeguarding across the organization to meet regulatory rules.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Oversee the Safeguarding Reconciliation Team to ensure timely and accurate daily reconciliations.
  • Monitor Global Safeguarding compliance daily and develop enhancements to calculation and reporting methodologies to meet regulatory needs.
  • Manage escalations, management information, and project updates to Senior Management and committees, including tracking remediation actions and project plans.
  • Develop and enhance safeguarding processes and controls with treasury teams to ensure compliance with policies and support audit requirements.
  • Contribute to embedding the Safeguarding framework and associated policies across the organization.
  • Develop documentation of policies and procedures.
  • Partner with other CKO teams to develop and implement automation initiatives and support new product projects.
  • Lead in Checkout.com's strategic global expansion and regulatory initiatives within the treasury space.
  • Support Reconciliation leadership with ad-hoc tasks and regular critical metric dashboards.
  • Manage requirements for both internal and external audits.
  • Continually develop skills and knowledge in line with business growth and expansion.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in treasury, finance, regulatory, or risk-related fields.
  • Extensive management skills, experience with direct and indirect reporting lines.
  • Understanding of customer asset protection/custodianship (e.g., Safeguarding or CASS).
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to build and leverage cross-functional relationships.
  • Forward-thinking, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines in an evolving environment with shifting priorities.
  • Proficient in English with excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • Knowledge of Card Schemes, Alternative Payment Methods, or Payin/Payout solutions is an advantage.
  • Very good knowledge of MS Excel (Formulas, PQ, or VBA).
  • Ability to self-manage complex individual projects and automate manual tasks within the team or department.
  • Ability to establish relationships with key partner groups to achieve business outcomes and improve process efficiency.
