Job Description
Purpose of the Job:
Reporting to the Director of Tax and Strategic Finance, the International Tax Manager is responsible for ensuring high quality tax forecasting / reporting for strategic decision making and external IFRS reporting; managing the adoption of and compliance with evolving international tax reporting requirements; and being a key player in the design and implementation of group tax projects. The role will work closely with Head Office finance, treasury and subsidiary finance teams.
This is a hands-on role offering opportunities to take ownership, show initiative and be a key part of the Head Office team. There will be a significant focus on US tax matters which are managed day to day by the satellite US finance team. The role includes a good mix of international tax project work providing the opportunity to work with key stakeholders and influence the business. Some UK and international travel will be required.
Key responsibilities:
Group reporting and compliance
- Managing the group's internal tax forecasting cycle, overseeing the year end / interim tax consolidation and reporting processes including liaising with external auditors.
- Managing central tax filings including BEPs Pillar 2 and Country by Country Reporting (CbCR).
- Maintaining the tax risks register and UTP provisioning.
- Ensuring compliance across the group with governance and internal controls.
- Supporting the Head Office finance team on IFRS tax reporting matters.
- Pro-actively keeping up to date with legislative developments and assessing the impact on the group.
Internal advisory and tax projects
- Providing support on international tax matters across the group, including operational cross-border transactions and structuring.
- Overseeing transfer pricing policy development, implementation and documentation compliance (in conjunction with external advisors).
- Involvement with tax aspects of M&A activity.
- Designing and managing the implementation of tax efficiency planning, group and treasury tax initiatives.
- Assisting with tax authority enquiries.
- Contributing to tax technology initiatives and automation.
Qualifications

- Commercial and pragmatic approach to problem solving.

- Flexible to travel if required.
Experience and Education
- CTA or ACA / ACCA qualified with good IFRS (tax) accounting knowledge.
- UK Corporate tax and international tax specialisation with relevant and proven experience gained in a multinational environment or top / mid-tier accountancy firm.
- Experience of tax consolidation processes and the reporting requirements of a plc.
- Good working understanding and experience of the US tax system.
- Experience of managing other foreign taxes, UK VAT or Customs duties would be helpful.
- Strong IT skills.

Location:
The role will be based at the Group head-office in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, on the outskirts of London. However, due to the international spread of the Group's operations the role may require some travel.
