The Role:As an HSEQ Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing multiple projects to ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) Management Systems. Reporting to the Head of HSEQ for your region, you will collaborate closely with site teams and managers to identify hazards, mitigate risks, and promote HSEQ standards. You will play a key role in championing HSEQ initiatives, ensuring adherence to current legislation, and enhancing workplace safety and quality across projects.
Key Responsibilities:Occupational Health & Wellbeing:

  • Support company-wide health and wellbeing initiatives under the guidance of the Head of HSEQ, the HSEQ Director, and the Health & Wellbeing Advisor.
  • Promote and communicate monthly health and wellbeing themes across the region.
  • Act as an advocate for occupational health, ensuring awareness and support at the regional level.

HSEQ Advice and Support:

  • Provide consistent and reliable HSEQ advice to Advisors and Site Teams, supporting daily operations.
  • Resolve HSEQ issues and support the region with new initiatives aimed at improving HSEQ performance.
  • Prepare monthly HSEQ statistics, analyze trends, and implement proactive measures.
  • Mentor and manage HSEQ Advisors, assisting with their professional growth and development.
  • Ensure quality control through the "Be Right First Time" initiative and monitor outcomes as required by HSEQ systems.

Collaboration and Client Relations:

  • Offer HSEQ support to clients in the region, fostering strong, collaborative relationships.
  • Attend client HSEQ forums, sharing lessons learned and promoting best practices.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with client HSEQ management teams.

HSEQ Communications and Reporting:

  • Support and communicate company-wide HSEQ initiatives at the regional level.
  • Prepare and issue HSEQ alerts after incidents or substandard practices to encourage learning and improvement.
  • Maintain and report on monthly HSEQ performance statistics as required.
  • Conduct awareness training and lead site stand-downs where necessary to reinforce safety practices.

Accident/Incident Investigation:

  • Assist HSEQ Advisors in investigating accidents, incidents, and conducting reviews.
  • Keep management informed of the progress and outcomes of investigations.
  • Identify root causes and issue HSEQ alerts to drive preventive actions.
  • Act as an independent investigator when required by the HSEQ Director.

HSEQ Monitoring:

  • Conduct regular site visits to support and guide your team of HSEQ Advisors.
  • Perform monthly detailed HSEQ inspections, meeting agreed targets.
  • Act as an HSEQ role model, promoting best practices within the region.
  • Oversee the work of HSEQ Advisors, ensuring that inspection findings are addressed promptly.
  • Set and monitor monthly inspection targets for Advisors to ensure full compliance with HSEQ standards.

Facilities Management:

  • Provide HSE support to Facilities Managers at company premises within your region.
  • Monitor HSE standards at these premises, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements.

Key Measures & Targets:

  • Complete monthly HSEQ inspections as per the agreement with your Line Manager.
  • Participate in weekly team escalation calls and bi-monthly HSEQ team meetings.
  • Support updates to the HSEQ Management System as directed.
  • Assist in external accreditation audits.
  • Prepare monthly HSEQ performance reports for regional leads.
  • Attend regional management meetings, providing updates on HSEQ performance and progress.
