This role has global coverage and supports the Head Of Legal, UK, reporting directly to that role. It provides general legal support and assistance to the global business as well as the function.
Key Accountabilities
Things you will do:
Client Contracts:
- Draft and negotiate client agreements either from scratch, as a mark- up on client produced drafts or utilising AMS templates/standard terms;
- Respond to Bids/RFPs in a commercially sensitive way to ensure maximum protection with minimum red lining of first drafts;
- Advising the business on the most appropriate legal and commercial documentation by which to achieve the desired outcome;
- Provide legal and commercial support when contract queries are raised, on all elements of the contract interpretation or exploitation and covering client challenges or disputes.
Supplier Contracts:
- Prepare contracts with direct and indirect suppliers (including technology suppliers and recruitment agencies (who supply candidates/workers to AMS), technology providers and payroll providers) to reflect the requirements of both AMS and its clients;
- Provide support and escalation route for AMS supplier management and implementation teams when rolling-out new supplier contracts, and deal with legal queries/escalations;
- Advise on contractual disputes with suppliers.
Training and Development:
- Training of wider AMS business on commercial law updates and best practice
- Develop processes to achieve an effective and efficient legal process
- Develop checklists, templates, training, FAQs to drive the business to a self-service legal model for the business, where appropriate.
General Legal Advice and Assistance:
- Delivery of timely, commercially pragmatic and sound legal advice and assistance to all internal stakeholders
Skills & Experience
What you need to have to be successful:
Must haves
- Post qualification legal experience within a law firm and/or in-house commercial environment.
- Commercial contract drafting and negotiation, ideally in a professional services/outsourcing context.
- Strong IT skills, comfortable with producing and amending own documents without support.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
Nice to haves
- Experience of working remotely.
- Recruitment sector experience (either advisory, or as in-house counsel)
- Legal experience in any of the following areas:
- Commercial contracts
- Supply chain (services and goods)
- Employment (including TUPE)
- Technology/Intellectual Property
- Outsourcing
