About you
You'll be joining the Customer Product team as the Head Product, Payments. Reporting to the VP of Customer Products, you'll be a part of a fast-growing business that is challenging the market and doing things differently.
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled individual to join our team as the Head Product, Payments. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the UK and EU Payment schemes, such as CHAPS, FPS, T2, SEPA, etc.
The Role:
- Developing and implementing key strategies to drive growth, improve customer experience and achieve revenue targets
- Drive a 3-year roadmap and have deep payments knowledge and expertise in both the UK and EU schemes (FPS, SEPA Instant, CHAPS, BACS, SEPA CT, T2)
- Leading a team of product managers on day-to-day operations, to drive product development, prioritization and product backlog management.
- Drive the quarterly product prioritization for the payments cluster to ensure we are prioritizing the most valuable items.
- Building and maintaining relationships with key partners, including payment schemes, financial institutions, payment processors, and regulatory bodies.

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop effective trustworthy relationships with business stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal to be able to articulate complex requirements
- Excellent problem solving and self-management skills in order to solve technical problems tactically and analytically
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong work ethic and team player mentality
- Good understanding of operational resiliency practices
- Ability to prioritise and work on multiple items concurrently
- Delivery focused and motivated with a can-do attitude
What you'll bring:
- Experience in a similar role, focused on delivering card payments products with strong knowledge of card acquiring and issuance.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as PSD2, GDPR and PCI-DSS
- Good understanding of banking regulations that impact accounts or payments
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and innovative idea generation
- Great time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Good understanding of finance with the ability to build business cases
- Fantastic interpersonal skills and delving into the real customer problems
- Strong understanding of Agile Development methodologies, and previous experience of working within Agile Teams

Our hiring process and what you can expect:
Application: a member of our talent acquisition team will review your application against the key requirements for the role and let you know within two weeks whether you're moving forward to the next stage;
Screening: You'll spend 30-45 minutes speaking to one of our recruiters learning more about the role and ClearBank, and we'll get it know more about you, your experience and how your skills align with the role (this will be via phone or Teams video call). You can expect to hear back from us within seven days following this meeting (if things are taking longer than expected, we'll let you know that too);
First Interview: You'll spend one hour with a member of our hiring team focusing on your skills, competencies and your ways of working at the same time we'll give you time to ask more questions about the role, the team and learn more about the ClearBank culture. This will be via Teams.
Second Interview: This will be a competency-based interview with one or more members of our team.
Final Stage: You will have a final meeting with the Head of Department. This will be around 45-60 minutes.
