Permanent contract | full-time 37 hours per week | £62,526 to £69,768 per annum (Scale N) | Norwich

Head of Independent Safeguarding and Reviewing Services - Independent Services, Assurance and Practice

Would you like to be part of a team that is driving forward high-quality practice to ensure excellent outcomes for children and young people in Norfolk?

We are currently looking to recruit a Head of Independent Safeguarding and Reviewing Services who will become a member of the management team within Independent Services, Assurance & Practice.

You will be required to lead Independent Safeguarding and Reviewing Services to deliver effective challenge and scrutiny across the children's safeguarding system, in line with legislative and statutory requirements.

As Head of Independent Safeguarding and Reviewing Services you will provide leadership to Independent Reviewing Officers and Child Protection Chairs, who ensure that children and young people who are Looked After or in Need of Protection are appropriately safeguarded and have quality care planning and have their views considered.

The role is also responsible for the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) functions, ensuring systems are in place across the Children's workforce (including NCC and all partner agencies) to review and ensure children are safeguarded by the staff working with them, and providing a leadership role for investigations where staff have harmed children.

As a registered Social Worker with significant post-qualification management experience, you will provide line management, operational direction, and leadership to Service Managers who manage the staff responsible for the delivery of Independent Statutory Services as well as line managing the Local Authority Designated Officers.
