The role:

Accountable withing Operations for the functional disciplines of forecasting, inventory planning and replenishment, and product lifecycle planning.

Responsible for the design, deployment and optimised Sales & Operations Planning process to drive business decision making and deliver both tactical and strategic business goals and objectives through best-in-class supply chain performance.

What you'll do:

Team Leadership:

  • Lead the Demand Planning and Inventory Replenishment team, ensuring accountability for forecasting, inventory management, stock policy, Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), and budget management.
  • Develop and mentor team members within the Operations organisation, fostering their growth and professional development.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within Operations, encouraging a positive, progressive, and collaborative working environment.
  • Collaborate with the Leadership team to deliver strategic business projects and initiatives.

Functional Leadership:

  • Develop and implement advanced forecasting techniques and methodologies to enhance cost performance, product availability, and customer service.
  • Establish and manage inventory policies, including safety stock, replenishment parameters, and order quantities to optimize cash-to-cash cycle times.
  • Develop and deploy Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as forecast accuracy, bias, fill rates, Inventory Turnover (ITO), and cost-to-serve metrics.
  • Monitor and manage budgetary control for inventory categories including free issue stock, promotional gifts, Point of Sale (POS) materials, and uniforms.
  • Optimize demand planning and inventory management technologies (Infor M3) to drive efficiency and results.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities using data and analytical expertise, providing thought leadership for supply chain planning.

Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP):

  • Lead the local S&OP process, conducting formalized, monthly cycles with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Collate and validate demand and supply plans, ensuring alignment with budgets and business strategies.
  • Identify and communicate constraints, risks, and opportunities to enhance business decision-making.
  • Contribute to European and global S&OP processes, acting as a liaison for local, regional, and global supply and demand issues.

Strategy:

  • Contribute to the UK Supply Chain and Operations strategy, ensuring competitive business advantages.
  • Support the development of the UK 5-year plan and longer-term business goals.
  • Collaborate with Global Supply Chain colleagues to implement a cohesive global strategy that respects local legal frameworks and business needs.

You are:

  • An experienced Supply Chain Leader with the natural ability to provide leadership and mentoring.
  • Someone with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build strong business relationships.
  • Passionate about interpreting complex data sets with the ability to translate into purposeful communications.
  • A leader, with excellent team development skills with strong communication skills.

You have:

  • Educated to degree level in Engineering, Operations, Business Management, or other equivalent qualification.
  • 10-15 years' experience as a Senior Supply Chain Leader, specifically within planning.
  • Previous experience working within a global, complex organisation.
  • Proven experience in demand planning, inventory management, and supply chain strategy.
  • Advanced knowledge of forecasting techniques and inventory management policies.
  • Proficiency with demand planning and inventory management technologies, particularly Infor M3.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a solutions driven mindset.
