Qualifications
Essential criteria
- CCAB Qualified Accountant
- Educated to Degree Level or Equivalent
- Evidence of continuous professional development in financial management and leadership Skills, Knowledge, and Experience.
Desirable criteria
- MBA / MSc / NHS Leadership Academy Programme
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Detailed knowledge and experience of developing internal financial policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of NHS Financial and Accounting Policies.
- Strong understanding of NHS financial governance, regulatory compliance, and statutory reporting.
- Knowledge of the NHS National Agenda.
Training and Experience
Essential criteria
- Extensive, post-qualification, senior level experience in financial management in a complex organisation including leading across a system.
- Extensive experience in managing and developing high- performing finance teams.
- Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in different NHS Organisations
- Experience of NHS finance in a senior capacity
Skills and Abilities
Essential criteria
- Ability to persuade, negotiate and influence at all levels with both internal and external stakeholders and other organisations.
- Highly developed leadership, interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively at Board and system level.
- Ability to produce, analyse and interpret highly complex financial data and information.
Desirable criteria
- Advanced financial presentation and visualisation tools.

Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
