Aon is looking for a Director, Aon Life Solutions.

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Aon Life Solutions within Aon Reinsurance Strategy and Technology Group, in London UK. As a director, you will report directly to the Senior Managing Director, Global Life Risk Modelling Consulting.

Your impact as a Director:

Aon Life Solutions provides high efficiency computing software, consulting services as well as advisory services to financial intermediaries, primarily insurance companies. The high-performance software platform, PathWise, provides companies with the ability to easily model financial obligations without involved coding and is run on Graphical Processing Units (GPU), making it the fastest, readily available software platform currently in use in the insurance industry. Global Life Risk Modelling consulting services has focused primarily on actuarial analysis, modelling of insurance liabilities and financial assets and reviews of hedging programs.

Principal Responsibilities:

Development Services

The role will be to Support the Global Life Risk Modelling Consulting lead in all aspects of running the modelling centre, including all operational and people aspects. Activities include:

• Development of extraordinary libraries to serve our global market
• Provide a leading SME role in the development of the PathWise system, working closely with the product development team
• Develop and grow a distributed team culture for our modelling teams to develop an extraordinary global centre of excellence for modelling
• Develop our talent to champion a high-performance culture with industry leading development processes and frameworks
• Grow a scalable modelling capability utilising our global centres of excellence
• Leading and handling the delivery of our PathWise libraries as well as providing SME advice on best in class libraries for our clients as part of the product management function
• Participate in liaising with clients on their modelling needs for PathWise to drive the solution forward

Onboarding Services

The role will be to Support the Global Life Risk Modelling Consulting lead in all aspects of running the modelling centre to deliver for our clients. Activities include:

• Advice clients in the market on best in class modelling functions and capabilities, including their modelling processes and how they can transform
• Lead and handle the modelling teams delivering to our clients as we scale the global modelling delivery function, including troubleshooting issues encountered in the delivery of our services
• Develop and grow a global team culture for our modelling teams to develop an elite delivery function for modelling including the development of a model implementation lifecycle that can be consistently applied, including the training of our modelling teams to deliver using our standard processes
• Develop and champion a high-performance culture with industry leading delivery processes and frameworks, including the conversion of other actuarial systems to PathWise
• Lead and provide a SME capability to our delivery teams to develop a high-performance delivery culture
• Lead client onboarding projects from other systems to PathWise, focusing on the modelling framework and process optimization.
• Develop how we train and support our clients, including the development of reference materials for PathWise users
• Develop and maintain client relationships with our key clients post implementation

Business Development Support

The role will be to Support the Global Life Risk Modelling Consulting lead in all aspects of new business development which require the modelling implementation team support. Activities include:

• Support the business development team with prospective clients by being a modelling SME and participating in demo and POCs for clients
• Lead and handle the analysis of requirements for client implementations to develop robust implementation designs and plans
• Lead and handle the model development teams to provide modelling services to develop client models to their requirements
• Support the development of our modelling bids to clients
• Develop and deliver presentations to clients and the industry on modelling topics for the insurance industry
• Attend conferences and industry events to promote the PathWise brand
• Work closely with our partners in the market to promote and develop their PathWise expertise

Preferred Skills

• 15+ years of experience in the life insurance industry (preferably in a consulting environment) working with actuarial software, development and implementation of models.
• Consulting experience advising clients as an SME on actuarial modelling topics preferred.
• Knowledge of UK and EMEA market and actuarial software and modelling requirements for the life insurance companies, including the financial production processes
• Familiarity with deterministic modelling, stochastic modelling, including dynamic and nested projection topics.
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts
• Member of Institute and Faculty of Actuaries or Society of Actuaries preferred.
• Strong experience of high-performance development and delivery processes in a consulting environment
• Strong experience of leading and developing teams in an agile environment with a strong focus on client delivery and new business development
• Strong experience building and leading talent in a diverse team of talent across multiple geographies.
• Strong communication skills for heavy team and client interactions
