Job overview

We invite you to become part of our exceptional team of Waddon ward an inpatient treating individuals with personality difficulties. It is an intensive psychological intervention ward where we provide high-quality, recovery-focused interventions. We encourage applicant with effective communication skills and thoughtfully designed wards that prioritise patient safety while promoting meaningful connections between staff and patients.

Main duties of the job

To oversee the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care given to a group of service users, and ensure records associated with this process are maintained. The post holder will also act as a named nurse or inpatient care coordinator. This may include the co-ordination of care of service users liaising with other members of the multidisciplinary team where necessary. The post holder will carry out nursing procedures to a standard that ensures safe and effective care, and complies with The Nursing and Midwifery Council's Code of Professional Conduct. The post holder will clinically supervise and appraise junior staff and students.

There will be an expectation that the post holder will facilitate user involvement in all aspects of service delivery.

  • Registered Nurse (Mental Health) / Register Nurse (Learning Disability) A
  • Mentorship Course. A
  • SLTP training. A
  • Evidence of continuing professional development. A
  • Degree or equivalent experience. A

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Experience of managing clinical practice at Band 5. A
  • Experience of implementing and monitoring standards of care. A
  • Experience of providing clinical and managerial supervision. A
  • Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team. A
  • Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment and knowledge of methods to develop culturally sensitive practice. A
