Job overview
As Deputy General Manager, you will be a key driver of operational excellence.
The post holder will have responsibility with key stakeholders for the development and provision of anaesthetic and pain services across the Trust. The post holder will report to the General Manager and will provide appropriate support to the General Manager and the Clinical Director in the delivery of all operational functions in the directorate. A specific requirement of this post is to work alongside the Heads of Specialty in anaesthesia, the clinical anaesthetic rota coordinators and lead the business management team in anaesthesia and pain. The role is expected to work alongside specialty colleagues to support optimum theatre efficiency.
The interviews will be held on the 09/12/24.
Main duties of the job

EDUCATION
Essential criteria
- Relevant first degree, equivalent professional qualification or suitable experience
- Recognised management qualification, e.g. Masters level, or equivalent knowledge and experience
- Demonstrable experience of operating successfully with NHS Finance processes and systems
SKILLS/ABILITIES
Essential criteria
- Ability to clearly express themselves in wide range of situations.
- Ability to present on behalf of the Trust at local, national and international meetings
- Ability to write clearly and concisely.
- Good Judgement
- Evidence of complex problem solving

EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
- Senior management experience and demonstrable capability and capacity in a complex healthcare environment
- Experience of appraising and developing staff
- Experience of preparing and presenting to a senior management group
- Experience of managing complex change initiatives
- Experience of business planning within the context of the NHS
