Data Center Technician - Berkshire, West London, DCC Communities

AWS Infrastructure Services are responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure - the foundation that keeps the cloud running. Our collective team supports all AWS UK data centers, including the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customer access to critical information. We tackle complex challenges and welcome innovative problem-solvers to join us.

We're expanding our Infrastructure Operations team and seeking Data Center Technicians.

In this role, you'll:

- Serve as a primary technical resolver for data center infrastructure challenges
- Work within the Data Center Operations (DCO) team to maintain IT infrastructure and hardware
- Develop expertise in various hardware and software troubleshooting scenarios
- Lead resolution of infrastructure issues and coordinate with solution teams on complex cases
- Help drive continuous improvements

This position includes shift work and may require rotation between locations.

Key job responsibilities
SAFETY
- Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and diligently encourage a world-class safety culture. Own the safety initiatives and projects to foster a strong safety culture.

DATA CENTER OPERATIONS (DCO)

- Diagnosing hardware and network problems followed by physical repairs
- Troubleshooting events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Performing root cause analysis of equipment failures

- Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with regulations)
- Working rotating shifts (morning/late/night) as well as weekends to maintain the 24/7 data center environment (If applicable)
- On-call rotation reaction to off-duty emergency calls (if applicable)

About the team
Data Center Operations designs, installs & maintains the world's largest Cloud Computing Infrastructure.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- High school or equivalent diploma
- Experience with networking and computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Access to your own vehicle

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in information technology or computer science
- Basic knowledge of Linux and experience with network protocols
