Job overview

To provide professional and positive leadership and management within the operating department with direct line management responsibility for the peri-operative team. The post holder will demonstrate sound clinical leadership skills which ensure positive care outcomes for patients and will be a clinical expert within the peri-operative field.

The post holder will be responsible for leading developments in theatre practice in line with service delivery and the strategic plans of the Division and Trust. They will provide professional advice, support and leadership to the multi-disciplinary team and promote education and development for all team members.

The post holder will be responsible for the management and maintenance of theatre equipment within the Trust.

To support the DTC Ward WSM with patient transfers and bed management when needed.

Main duties of the job

To create users accounts. With each user having a unique level of access ranging from a limited viewer to full administrator.

Training for local superusers across HHFT

Use our software to log assets.

Make a detailed log of equipment check-out, create custom fields, review the download Excel template.

Create the platform for contracts and licenses along with the assets

Add information about status, depreciation, maintenance, check-out times

Set reminders and alarms for assets that require regular maintenance, assets that are past due, contracts and licenses that are about to expire

Essential criteria

  • Relevant Theatre Experience
  • Understanding of assets across the trust, licenses and contracts
  • Professional UK registration eg NMC, HCPC
  • Relevant clinical qualification
  • Evidence of Management Leadership

Desirable criteria

  • Evidence of leadership courses
  • QI Certification (Gold or Silver)

Experience & Knowledge

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • Advanced perioperative clinical knowledge/skills
  • Good understanding of quality, safety, and risk management
  • Knowledge of the role in the context of local and National Plans and professional strategies to deliver services within the current and future NHS
